The Qantas American Express Discovery Card says no annual fee and they mean it. You have probably heard of the no annual fee scheme before. Lots of card issuers make the claim, but they do not all mean the same thing. Usually the phrase ‘no annual fee’ means one of three things. Some companies use it but only mean that there is no annual fee for the first year that you own that plastic. After that, you are slapped with an annual fee for the rest of the time you own the card. Other companies say it, but only mean that there is no annual fee if you meet certain requirements set by them. It can be a high amount of spending in the previous year or having your plastic linked to another one of the financial institutions accounts. If you do not meet their requirements you wind up paying an annual fee anyway.
But, when it comes to the phrase ‘no annual fee’ this time it means exactly what it says. There is never an annual fee on this card, not today or tomorrow not ever. In fact, not only is there no annual fee there is also no charge for supplementary cards. There is really no cost to own this card.
You might think that because there is no annual fee it must be a no frills credit card, but that is not at all true. This card offers an excellent rewards system that earns Qantas frequent flyer points. With those points you can reward yourself with a trip anywhere that they fly or with one of their 27 airline partners.
