We know that Aussie is one of the most popular financial institutions in Australia, but what is it about the Aussie MasterCard that everybody loves so much?
The Aussie brand offers one of the most competitive rate MasterCards on the market in Australia. To summarize the benefits and great features of this credit card, we will examine what Aussie’s card has to offer the consumer in contrast to other cards.
Interest and Balance Transfer Rates
For the first six months, an Aussie MasterCard charges only 9.99% p.a. for 12 months (reverts to 13.29%p.a.). This is available with an annual fee of only $49 dollars.
The balance transfer fee is also 2.99% p.a. for 12 months.
All interest rates are variable so could be subject to change, however they are correct at time of writing.
Interest Free Period
The interest free period on new purchases is 55 days, meaning essentially that you have almost two months free credit, allowing you to take advantage of high interest accounts even if they have a withdrawal delay.
Low application criteria
The credit card is readily available to most people in Australia and it is aimed at those with a minimum income of $15,000 dollars which includes the majority of us.
Obviously you need a reasonable credit rating to successfully apply, but there are no other requirements for you to enjoy the benefits of this card.
If you ever need to use the Aussie MasterCard for any cash advances, the interest rate on these types of transactions is only 19.99% p.a. p.a., which is considerably lower than some competing credit cards.
Other benefits
Although there is no reward points or fly miles scheme offered with this card, because it is linked to the MasterCard brand you will be able to get the benefits offered by the MasterCard Applause program.
These include premium tickets, seating and special discount offers for musical events, movies, theatre trips, sports and almost every kind of entertainment venue and leisure activity you can think of.
If you like your culture and entertainment, this scheme can really make a difference to the cost, and the experience is always more enjoyable when you can choose the best seats, or make sure you pre-book popular events.
Aussie MasterCard offers a discount at nearly three thousand restaurants in Australia with their e-Dine service, and if good wine is right up your cellar then you are automatically a member of the Aussie Wine Club run by Cellarmasters.
